During my MBA term break, I got this project through Upwork with Velou, a SaaS company specializing in e-commerce product listings and automation solutions, to help optimize their product title strategy. The core objective was to improve product visibility on search engines and marketplaces by automating keyword selection and validating title effectiveness.
Objectives
- Conduct in-depth keyword research to find high-intent, high-volume keywords relevant to e-commerce product titles and metadata.
- Identify and categorize keyword attributes like material, fit, design, and seasonal terms that drive conversions.
- Develop an automated product title optimization model to improve ranking potential on search engines and marketplaces.
- Deliver a comprehensive proposal and workflow documentation for Velou’s team, enabling automation and scalability.
My Role
- Researched and analyzed SEO keyword data using SEMrush, Moz, Google Keyword Planner, and AI-assisted tools.
- Categorized keywords by search intent for product titles, meta titles, schema, FAQs, and image alt-text.
- Designed a repeatable framework for Velou to automate optimized title creation for e-commerce PDPs.
- Collaborated closely with Velou’s product and engineering teams to align SEO strategy with their automation tools.
- Authored a 20+ page optimization document outlining keyword mapping, content workflows, and automation guidelines.
Achievements
- Delivered a blueprint for automated keyword-based title optimization, now used as a template for Velou’s client projects.
- Created a structured system that reduced manual work and ensured consistent SEO best practices across listings.
- Provided keyword data and title strategies that can scale across hundreds of e-commerce products, improving CTR and SERP rankings.
- Enhanced Velou’s ability to attract and onboard clients by incorporating AI-driven SEO automation into their offerings.
